The Skinny : This painting is memorable not only as a historic record of Hurricane Katrina, but also because it is the first complete painting of Harriet Brewing Resident Artist Jesse Brodd. Although he had painted before, this is Brodd’s first thought-out and fully finished work of art. An alligator wrestles with a hurricane rising over the devastated city and shows that despite the almost overwhelming destruction of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans refuses to be defeated.
